Actress Samantha Hanratty is a mom! The Yellowjackets star announced on New Year’s Eve that her first baby with her husband Christian DeAnda made their arrival just in time before the ball drop. “And just like that…my world got brighter.”
To announce her baby news, the actress shared a black-and-white close-up image of the new mom holding her baby’s finger. Samantha announced in August that she was pregnant and shared she was expecting a boy the following month. The Atlas star did not share the name of her son.
During her pregnancy, the actress shared that her newborn would be born with a cleft lip. “Our baby is going to have a cleft lip and a possible cleft palate,” she shared in a TikTok video at the time. On how she felt about the news, Samantha openly shared, “At first the news was obviously shocking because it doesn’t run in my family, it doesn’t run in my husband’s family. And the biggest thing that we all want is that we want our kids to be happy and we want our kids to be healthy.”
Ahead of her son’s arrival, the actress shared a touching post about joining motherhood. “Through every ER visit, bleeding, pain, sickness, and tear shed during your time in my womb I can’t help but be grateful. Every poke, kick, movement reminding me that you’re there. We are one. You are my son. I can’t wait to hold your body in my arms but it has been a true gift to hold your body in mine.” Samantha paired the message with stunning images from a nude maternity photoshoot.
